Finally spring is here!! The weather is getting warmer and we have our good sunny days. This is when we like to change up the warm drinks to sometimes having refreshing drinks, while still enjoying a good coffee.
This gives a few varieties of warm and cooler coffees to enjoy during the spring.
Here are 4 recipes of spring coffees rated by several online sources:
Iced Hazelnut Latte
If you want something more refreshing yet still have the hints of a winter drink, this one is for you.
Ingredients-
· 1/4 cup espresso or 1-2 espresso shots
· 1 cup of steamed milk
· 1-2 tablespoons hazelnut syrup
· 1/3 cup of ice
· Whipped cream
Method-
1. Prepare the espresso.
2. While that is preparing, put the ice into a cup. If you would like to crush the ice, do so as you wish.
3. Add hazelnut syrup and milk into the cup.
4. Then add the espresso and stir well.
5. Garnish with whipped cream and hazelnut syrup if you desire.
6. Serve and enjoy!!
Iced Americano
An American is a strong coffee which can be mixed with milk if preferred. This is a classic coffee made with ice which is more refreshing when the weather gets warmer.
Ingredients-
· 2 shots of espresso
· 3/4 cup of ice
· 1/2 cup of water
Method-
1. Prepare the espresso.
2. While the espresso is being prepared, fill up a glass with ice about 3/4 of the way.
3. Once the coffee is brewed, pour it into the glass.
4. After the coffee has been poured into the glass, add cold water to top it up.
5. Serve and enjoy!!
Espresso Cortado
This looks like it is a simple coffee to make with fewer ingredients but a Barista device is needed to make this.
Ingredients-
· 2 shots of espresso
· 3/4 cup milk
Method-
1. Prepare the espresso.
2. While the espresso is brewing, stream the milk in the Barista device. This should heat it and make it frothy.
3. Add the espresso to a mug.
4. Then add the milk on top.
5. Serve and enjoy!!
Ice Caramel Macchiato
Caramel flavour is popular all year round, so if it is your favourite flavour this would be great to have during the spring time weather.
Ingredients-
· 2 shots of espresso or 80ml strong brewed coffee
· 3/4 cup of milk
· 1-2 tablespoons caramel sauce
· 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
· 1/3 cup of ice
Method-
1. Add some caramel sauce to the bottom of a mug.
2. Then add the ice into the mug.
3. Prepare the espresso shots or brew the coffee.
4. Once the coffee is prepared poor it into the mug.
5. Add some caramel sauce on top.
6. Serve and enjoy!!
The espresso cortado or iced Americanism would be the ones for me as I usually have them in Spain. The iced Americans is lovely in the warmer weather. Love the ginger winter one.
